The Volla Cloud is based on Holochain's post-blockchain technology, which uses the best of the blockchain concept while overcoming its limitations and drawbacks.

Holochain also uses distributed and encrypted records of chained data, distributed hash tables (DHT), for maximum consistency and validity. Such linked data can be, for example, text messages.

Unlike blockchain, the data is not synchronized globally, but for each use case in a separate network, which is created, for example, by exchanging messages in a group. This not only makes Holochain lightweight and energy-efficient, but also leaves it up to users to decide and control with whom data should be exchanged.

Unlike blockchain, Holochain can also be used to securely delete data. This is a decisive advantage, as otherwise the volume of data would grow and inevitably lead to a data overflow and to a standstill or even failure of the cloud.

In preparation is the intelligent data backup “Recovery”, with which you can restore your data if your Volla Phone or Tablet is lost or damaged. The data is encrypted in the background and distributed among the devices of people you trust, the trusted peers. This can be your family, your company, your circle of friends or even your own PC or Mac.
