Volla is a young, up-and-coming smartphone brand that focuses on straightforward, ergonomic operation and consistent data protection. Volla phones combine high-quality, contemporary hardware produced in Germany with the Volla OS operating system, which is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and thus meets the highest standards of maturity.

To meet strict legal and business requirements for data protection, the Volla OS is Google-free and is not dependent on any other cloud, while still being compatible with Android. Thus, the OS complies with the General Data Protection Regulation following the European Court of Justice's rejection of the Privacy Shield agreement with the US, which prohibits the use of stock Android with Google apps and services.

In addition, the Volla OS is secured by an optional, log-free VPN, and trusted alternatives have replaced services such as Assisted GPS and network status checks. Backdoors for user data collection have been removed.
